Split Log Construction

Golden Eagle has developed a cost effective way to build a high quality, energy efficient insulated log home. Golden Eagle High performance Split-Log Homes are insulated 2" x 6" walls wrapped with log. They are just as energy efficient as our full log home, but a little more contemporary. Available in both 6" and 8" heights. All have solid corner pieces for an authentic log home look with a lifetime of durability. Special ship lap design eliminates almost all caulking of horizontal joints on our 6" and 8" milled split log.

Log Style

We have three "D" shaped full logs. Log Profile number 4 and number 5 have a super round exterior and number 5 is peeled. They don't have tongue & grooves. The builder on-site routes a groove. Why? Because some people don't want to see tongue and grooves exposed on the exterior butt and pass corners, but most people don't mind it. Log Profile number 2 is our best selling full log ever. It has double tongue and grooves and a not so round exterior.
We offer three double round log profiles. They are all the same size. It is the peeling that makes the difference. Log profile number 8 is peeled on both sides, number 6 is smooth on both sides and number 7 is available with one side smooth, one side peeled.
